The company
A specialist landscaping contractor who design and build plant-led environmental landscape schemes for private gardens and estates. Using plants to provide civil engineering solutions, e.g. reed bed filtration and wetland schemes, erosion control, rain water harvesting and drainage schemes, they also specialise in conservation, habitat creation and the natural landscape. Examples include creation of woodland, hedgerow planting and wildlife habitats along with construction of large lakes and ponds, arboretums, and tree planting schemes of various sizes.
The job
Working in teams of two or three under the leadership of the Landscaping Manager, you will carry out a range of landscaping duties. These will include tree, hedge and shrub planting, wildlife habitat creation, woodland clearance & re-planting, turfing/seeding. On occasion, you will be involved in specialist tree planting services for specimen trees grown in containers up to 1000 litre in size, as well as operating large machinery such as 360 excavators should you have the requisite experience.
As well as working for our private clients you will also, on occasion, work at the Nursery carrying out repairs to the buildings/tunnels/irrigation as well as the future development of the site.
What you'll need
A real passion for the outdoors, nature, wildlife and the environment, and be used to physical work in all weather conditions.
Ideally 3 years experience in the field of landscaping, arboriculture, horticulture, civil engineering, farming or estate work.
Experience and understanding of the use of a wide range of landscape and construction equipment e.g. diggers, dumpers, rotovators etc. would be useful
It is important that you are well-presented and courteous, in order to represent the company and uphold our values in your dealings with clients, customers, and colleagues.

A Full UK driving licence and your own transport.
Where you'll be based
You will be required to travel to the nursery in Campsea Ash each morning to join up with the team, from there you may be completing projects on site or heading off to site. Contracts are predominantly within 15 miles of the nursery, however work is occasionally across Suffolk and into South Norfolk and North Essex.
What you'll receive
- £12.00-£13.00 per hour dependent on experience
- Employed role (permanent contract)
- Working Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30am & finishing at 4pm/4:30pm/5pm depending on the season
