The employer
Burnt House Vineyard is a family business situated in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, producing award winning still and sparkling wines. They operate a Cellar Door & Tasting Room which offers tours, drop in wine tastings and wine accompanied with a small plates menu.
They offer different food experiences and events throughout the year including pizza nights, picnics in the vines as well as our tours of the vineyard in the summer months.
The job
As the Chef you will play a crucial part in creating a memorable dining experience for guests, creating menus that use fresh and local produce in line with the seasons, with a focus on creating pairings for the vineyards range of wines.
You'll prepare and cook high-quality dishes and oversee food preparation processes with the assistance of kitchen assistants. You'll also manage kitchen operations, including overseeing food production, inventory control, and staff scheduling.
There will also be a requirement to create event menu’s for private event bookings - a real opportunity to use your creative flair and passion, working four days per week and contributing meaningfully to a very special business.
What you'll need
Proven experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen
A genuine passion for pairing food with wine, using hyper-local seasonal produce where possible
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for culinary arts and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Food Hygiene Level 2, Food Allergen Training, & First Aid Training
Own transport due to location
Where you'll be based
At Burnt House Vineyard, south of Stowmarket, Suffolk
What you'll receive
£30,000 - £35,000 per annum dependent on experience
Working c.38 hours per week as follows:
Thursday 3pm-10pm
Friday 10am-10pm
Saturday 10am-10pm
Sunday 10am-5pm
Opportunity for additional hours for private events
28 days annual leave
