The Bildeston Crown is a 15th century coaching inn and village pub offering exceptional food with an 'estate to plate' ethos.

The job

As Sous Chef you will be working in a strong brigade under a superb Executive Chef and longstanding Head Chef where you will be assisting with the running of a large, busy kitchen producing the highest quality pub food. The Crown is part of the wider Nedging Hall Estate and they are proud to grow many of their own vegetables, fruits and herbs in their kitchen garden at Nedging Hall. This is key to their sustainability efforts and inspires the team to create the best seasonal dishes in Suffolk.

What you'll need

An experienced Sous Chef cooking fresh food within a professional kitchen
Ability to run a large kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
A passion for local and seasonal produce
A real desire to learn and expand your cookery knowledge

Where you'll be based

The Bildeston Crown is in the small village of Bildeston in rural south Suffolk

What you'll receive

A salary of £35,000 - £36,000 per annum dependent on experience
Tips equating to at least £3,000 per annum
Longevity bonuses
48 hour working week - you will not be overworked
A genuinely enjoyable kitchen environment
