The employer
A wonderful couple occupying a stunning, large house outside of Southwold. The house is large and recently built on quite a grand scale, however everything inside is well designed and the rooms, windows etc are all beautifully maintained making cleaning much easier. The family have 3 grown up children who live away but come to stay occasionally, so the house is very quiet most of the time.
The job
As Housekeeper, you will work closely with the Senior housekeeper and other staff to ensure the smooth running of the household.
You will complete all housework to the highest of standards including laundry & ironing including specialist fabrics, changing beds, cleaning all rooms and deep cleans, wardrobe management, cooking, and assisting the chef on occasion, feeding pets, and assisting with entertaining.
There is a potential for accompanying the family for an annual trip to a Scottish estate.
This is a fantastic role with a genuinely lovely couple who treat their staff incredibly well.
What you'll need
Experienced as a housekeeper within private household
A good level of physical fitness
Polite and well presented
A good cook
Happy to work with other staff and, at times, alone
Very high standards and a keen eye for the finer detail
Will be happy around pets (two dogs and three cats)
Car driver
Non smoker
Where you'll be based
The house is based on an attractive estate close to the coastal town of Southwold, Suffolk. The accommodation is in the form of a luxury 'lodge' type building on site, very well appointed and warm, with one bedroom, fully fitted kitchen, superfast broadband, and 55" TV. The location lends itself to outdoor activities such as coastal walking, sea swimming, running, cycling etc.
What you'll receive
£40,000 per annum
Accommodation and all bills included
Pets and partners more than welcome
Full time working Monday - Friday alternating between a 6:45am and 9am start, finishing between 6pm-7pm each day, with a 3 hour break during the afternoon
