The employer
Wilderness Reserve is Located eight miles inland from the seaside town of Southwold, equal distance between Norwich and Ipswich and 2 hours from London. It is a collection of 28 cottages, farmhouses, barns and manors scattered over many thousands of acres comprising of woodlands, lakes and rolling pastures. Wilderness Reserve itself is a 30 year conservation and English nature restoration project which has incorporated the restoration of these properties by local artisans with each having its own unique character.
The job
Wilderness Reserve has three large estate houses/venues - Sibton Manor (13 bedrooms 12,000 sq ft) Chapel Barn (17 bedrooms 13,000 sq ft) and Blyth Barn (18 bedrooms 22,000 sq ft). Your role is to ensure that the property and gardens are at all times beautifully presented in order that our guests, who range from large family celebrations to three day weddings and corporate events, are offered an exceptional, flawless service. There is a support team of housekeepers, gardeners, maintenance engineers, chefs and front of house to assist. We are a high-end hospitality business and as such the hours are long and sometimes arduous, and most over weekends and bank holidays. You'll be live-in whilst you are working, staying in a self-contained apartment within the property, If you are looking for a 9-5 Monday to Friday job, this isn’t for you!
What you'll need
An obsessive attention to detail, outstanding managerial skills and endurance.
A background in hospitality, private house management, or housekeeping
Ability to cook simple meals on occasions (i.e. breakfast).
It is important that you are well-presented and courteous, in order to deliver an exemplary service to our guests.
A Full UK driving licence.
Where you'll be based
Wilderness Reserve is located across 8000 acres, spanning Heveningham, Sibton, and Yoxford in stunning surroundings. You will be based solely at Sibton Park and will live-in in the management flat.
What you'll receive
£34,000-£37,000 per annum dependent on experience
Employed role (permanent contract)
Live-in role (courtyard flat)
Use of a vehicle, typically a Morris Minor Traveller or Land Rover Defender during working time
Variable hours very often including weekends and bank holidays
Stunning working location in the Suffolk countryside
