The job
As Group Payroll & HR Officer you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and supporting the HR function in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Duties will include:
Process end-to-end payroll for all employees on the farm and estate on a monthly basis
Collate payroll data prepared by group subsidiaries and process all employees onto the payroll on a monthly basis
Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Calculate and process statutory deductions (e.g. tax, national insurance, pensions)
Ensure compliance with laws and payroll regulations
Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management and audit purposes
Liaise with finance for payroll journal entries and reconciliations
Manage queries related to payslips, tax codes, and deductions
Support the Head of Group HR with managing the HRIS (PeopleHR), drafting letters/documents, collating signed documentation and reports
Full responsibility for HR administration on the estate, ensuring all HR files are updated and all administration related to the full employee life-cycle.
Support the head office team to ensure the smooth running of the group and day-to-day operations
Updating and/or producing schedules, spreadsheets, presentations, reports, pitches, and correspondence
Assist with organising staff, client and group events when required
What you'll need
Proven experience in a Payroll and HR administration role
Solid understanding of payroll processes and employment legislation
Proficiency in payroll software and HR systems (e.g. Sage Payroll and PeopleHR)
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Effective management and prioritisation of tasks
Good knowledge and practitioner of Microsoft software packages, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Full driving licence and transport due to location
Where you'll be based
The Heathpatch offices are based at Dairy Farm in Semer, Suffolk. The office can, at times, be quite quiet so the resilience to work alone is required. There will be occasional travel to group company sites as required.
What you'll receive
£32,000 - £34,000 per annum, full time equivalent, dependent on experience
Working c.20 hours per week, worked flexibly between Monday-Friday between office hours of 8:30am-5:30pm. This could be 2.5 days or 4 short days to accommodate school hours. Preferably to include a Friday
