The job

As Finance, Payroll, & Administration Assistant you will support the smooth and efficient running of the head office and wider group by providing multi‑disciplinary support across bookkeeping, payroll, company secretarial duties, compliance, and general administrative operations.

You'll collaborate closely with the wider team while also working independently, using sound judgement and initiative to manage priorities and resolve routine matters with minimal supervision. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial and administrative records, supporting day‑to‑day operations across the group, and contributing to robust governance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Your key accountabilities will include:

- Support the head office team to ensure the smooth running of the group and day-to-day operations
- Assist with organising staff, client and group events when required
- Support with the completion of statutory reporting requirements
- Collate and update information from multiple sources producing schedules, spreadsheets and reports
- Bookkeeping for a range of companies, charities and personal accounts all managed by the accounts department, record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Maintain and organise financial records and documents
- Assist with year-end processes, audits and tax preparations
- Perform company secretarial duties for Heathpatch and all subsidiary companies
- Manage Companies House filings and administration for the group
- Support the Group Payroll Officer in processing end-to-end payroll for all employees across the group
- Collate payroll data prepared by subsidiaries and process employees onto the payroll on a monthly basis
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Calculate and process statutory deductions (e.g. tax, national insurance, pensions)
- Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management and audit purposes

What you'll need

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage 50 or Xero)
Quick to learn, highly organised, and comfortable managing a varied workload in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to apply independent practical and commercial thought
Motivated by continuous improvement
Effective management and prioritisation of tasks
Good knowledge and practitioner of Microsoft software packages, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc

Where you'll be based

The Heathpatch offices are based at Dairy Farm in Semer, Suffolk. The office can, at times, be quite quiet so the resilience to work alone is required. There will be occasional travel to group company sites as required.

What you'll receive

£30,000 - £32,000 per annum, full time equivalent, dependent on experience
Working c.20 hours per week, preferably Tuesday-Friday mornings/school hours, although some flexibility on this
Company pension
28 days holiday including bank holiday (fte)
