The estate comprises a historic main house with extensive grounds and is operated as a private home.
The job
The household is seeking a reliable, experienced, and detail-oriented Cleaner to support the day-to-day presentation and cleanliness of the residence. This is a hands-on position suited to an individual who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards within a traditionally run private household.
The role is offered on a part-time basis (10–15 hours per week), with the potential to develop into a full-time position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
General cleaning and upkeep of the main house
Care of floors, fine surfaces, and delicate finishes
Dusting and polishing of furniture, fixtures, and fittings
Cleaning and maintenance of silverware and fine household items
Laundry and fabric care (as required)
Ensuring rooms are immaculately presented
Assisting with seasonal deep cleaning tasks
Supporting overall household organisation and tidiness
What you'll need
Prior experience in a private household or high-standard environment
Meticulous attention to detail and presentation
Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of privacy
Self-motivated, dependable, and well-organised
Comfortable working within a formal household setting
Knowledge of care for fine materials, antiques, or specialist finishes
Flexibility with working hours when required
Where you'll be based
South Cambridgeshire, approximately seven miles south of Cambridge.
What you'll receive
Working part time approximately 10–15 hours per week
£12.71 per hour
