Business Executive/Head of Projects

A successful and thriving family business based near Saxmundham, operating predominantly as a wholesaler.

The job

You’ll support the directors in the daily running of the business, an extremely well-run operation built on processes and efficiency. Through monitoring of these processes, and working closely with the established team you will, over time, develop an ‘antennae’ to spot operational issues and how to eliminate them. As you will often be the most senior person on site, you’ll be first line of defence for firefighting – the ‘grown up’ in the room as it were.

The ‘projects’ side of the role will entail working closely with the director to develop the business, undertaking adhoc projects which will be hugely varied including; warehouse development, data analysis, health & safety, and far more.

In addition, you will be responsible for all business administration/establishment management tasks, including but not limited to, service supplier management, government requirements, premises management, hardware/software management, and marketing support.

What you'll need

A real business ‘all-rounder’; an exceptional administrator and organiser, proven leader, and commercially aware
A military-style approach to organisation and efficiency, with a willingness to accept, understand, and engage with the proven, work-studied methods and processes that are key to productivity and ability to compete
Calm under pressure with a firm, friendly, and flexible leadership style, able to mix comfortably with the team whilst retaining the ability to manage all personnel issues with a no-nonsense approach.
Careful, considered, and measured approach to decision making, with the commercial acumen and gravitas to put the brakes on when required
A willingness and humility to ‘muck in’ at all levels, using initiative to know when to roll up your sleeves to assist colleagues
Experience or qualification in accountancy would be beneficial, but by no means essential

The offices and warehouse are based in Saxmundham, Suffolk

What you'll receive

- A salary of between £45,000 and £60,000 dependent on experience
- A working week of Monday-Friday 8am-5:30pm
