The employer

C.E. Davidson are a long-standing family business engaged in a variety of agricultural activities, including farming, property holdings, and the construction of poultry sites - their primary business activity. The company employs over 50 people from the local area, many of whom have spent their entire career with the company.

The job

You’ll be working as part of a team to assist the Farm Manager in carrying out all tasks required in the day to day running of the poultry farm, whilst maintaining the highest level of bird welfare standards and bio security. Your daily tasks will include maintaining health and wellbeing standards across the poultry site; carry out daily routines in the poultry sheds; monitor animal health, report concerns, and keep accurate records; ensure all welfare, hygiene and bio security protocols are followed; report any shortage of farm supplies to the Farm Manager; monitor and report any damage to buildings, equipment or machinery to the
Farm Manager; liaise with the Farm Manager and colleagues as appropriate, regarding successes and problems to ensure the consistent flow of information

What you'll need

Experience of working within the poultry industry preferred
Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Agriculture or equivalent would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be given
Full UK driving licence and transport due to rural location

Where you'll be based

The farm is based in a rural location close to Stradbroke, Suffolk

What you'll receive

£28,700 - £32,500 per annum depending on experience
Full-time, working 45 hours over 6 days. The hours of work will vary from week to week depending on bird requirements

29 days annual leave including bank holidays
