Venue Manager

The employer

A luxury venue comprising a country house, event barn, glamping setup, and extensive gardens

The job

As Venue Manager you will be responsible for harnessing the potential of this remarkable country house and grounds, whilst delivering the operational side of the business. You'll work closely with the owners to develop a new brand and launch it to the market, identifying any and all opportunities to increase revenue. This will require some outside-of-the-box thinking and a tenacious approach - fuelled by the passion you'll no doubt develop for such a stunning place.

You'll also oversee the day-to-day running of the venue, managing casual staff for events, and delivering weddings and events, large or small, on the day. Although weddings are currently the core business, one that you will continue to grow, the venue has so much more to offer including exclusive-use country house stays, corporate and private functions, glamping, and an impressive horticultural history that must be front and centre.

An incredibly rare opportunity to take real ownership of a site with incredible potential. Although full time work, this is not a typical 9-5 role - you'll manage your time accordingly and be present as the business requires.

What you'll need

Extensive experience in luxury hospitality or tourism, with a keen eye for detail, quality, and presentation
Experience of managing weddings and events strongly desired
Commercial acumen, conscious of the financial effects of business decisions
A welcoming host, who is reliable, honest, and conscientious
An entrepreneurial spirit, able to devise and implement strategies to increase revenue
Ability to build commercial relationships and collaborations with local businesses and suppliers
Strong knowledge of digital marketing and branding, able to use social media effectively to reach a wide audience

Where you'll be based

The venue is close to Diss, Norfolk

What you'll receive

£35,000 - £37,000 per annum dependent on experience
Profit-related bonus
Full time employment for c.40 hours per week, worked flexibly across seven days
Autonomy to grow the business and increase revenue, within a wider company strategy
28 days annual leave (bank holidays to be taken in lieu as required)
