The employer
The George is a newly re-built pub restaurant with 45 covers which has just undergone a £2 million rebuild and is the only bar restaurant in the beautiful village of Wickham Market. It is far more than a pub and will be the centre of the community, owned by the community.
The job
As Sous Chef you will supporting the Head Chef in running the food and kitchen operation of this exciting new venture, with the brief of making The George the best possible place to eat. The pub will be the hub of the community, serving delicious and superbly presented pub classics, mixing in an exciting specials menu using the best of local Suffolk produce.
If you have the culinary skill, experience, and ideas to work in our brand new kitchen alongside a wonderful Head Chef, this one is for you.
What you'll need
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous in a professional kitchen
Ability to run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
Passion for using fresh ingredients and local produce
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Where you'll be based
The George is based at the centre of the idyllic village of Wickham Market, Suffolk
What you'll receive
£34,000 - £35,000 per annum annual salary
A share of the tips
Full time working c45-48 hours per week
