The employer
Wilderness Reserve is an 8000-acre estate of woodland, lakes and rolling pasture, sprinkled with an eclectic collection of historic and traditional Suffolk properties.
From the grand Grade II listed manor house Sibton Park and restored 15th century Chapel Barn, to charming, thatched cottages and romantic retreats, Wilderness Reserve is a long-term conservation and restoration project - encompassing English nature and breathing new life into historic properties.
The job
As Property Director you will be entirely responsible for the Wilderness Reserve properties which, at present, is a collection of 28 remote houses from one-bed romantic cottages to 18-bed fully staffed barns and manor houses.
This is not a typical 9-5 role - we are a 365 day-a-year business attracting over 20,000 visitors per anuum, each property turning round two or three groups of guests per week. You will have exceptional leadership skills, be utterly relentless and dedicated to your work, immensely practical, and decisive under pressure.
You will manage five key departments including House Managers, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Gardens, Inventory, and specialist subcontractors as required; presently around 45 reports.
What you'll need
A natural leader, able to motivate and inspire with a firm management style
Standards driven and detail-orientated, accepting nothing less than perfection
A good understanding of scheduling, productivity and inventory controls
A solid understanding of the fabric of a building
Relentless energy and endurance
You must live within 30 minutes of the estate, or be willing to relocate
A Full UK driving licence
