The job
As Housekeeper you will perform deep cleaning of the home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas. Tasks will include:
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors and surfaces
- Change bed linens, make beds, and manage household laundry (washing, folding, ironing)
- Clean appliances, cabinets, windows, and fixtures as needed
- Organise closets, cabinets, and living spaces
- Restock household and cleaning supplies
- Follow family preferences for cleaning products and routines
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or supply needs promptly
- Respect the family’s privacy, security, and confidentiality at all times
What you'll need
Prior experience working in a private household preferred
Strong attention to detail and high cleanliness standards
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Honest, dependable, and professional demeanour
Physically able to perform cleaning tasks (standing, bending, lifting)
Where you'll be based
The home is based in Southwold, Suffolk
What you'll receive
£16.00 - £18.00 per hour dependent on experience
Self-employed, working two days per week - 16 hours - (flexible as to which days)
More hours when the family is in residence, typically over Christmas and July/August
