The Trowel & Hammer is a proper old fashioned pub with rooms that has undergone an extensive recent refurbishment by the new, ambitious, and supportive owner.
The job
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen operation, delivering traditional, honest pub food delivered to a great standard using local high quality ingredients. The kitchen has recently been refurbished and is well kitted out and sizeable for a country pub. Our experienced General Manager will support you as required but will remain hands off and allow you the autonomy to develop the menu within the overall vision of the owner,
What you'll need
Experience as a Head Chef or experienced Sous Chef cooking good, honest, pub food
Passionate about food, drink, and hospitality
Your own transport due to rural location

The Trowel & Hammer is based in the village of Cotton, Suffolk, north of Stowmarket.
What you'll receive
£40,000 per annum basic salary plus tips
Working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis, one weekend day off per month
