The employer
Heveningham Hall is a privately owned and occupied Georgian country house, with extensive gardens restored to Capability Brown's original - but never implemented - designs by noted English landscape architect Kim Wilkie. It's estate extends to 8000+ acres of parkland and woodland.
The job
You will be working within a small but dedicated forestry team felling mainly ash and silver birch. You'll be thinning new woodland blocks, assisting with planting new plantations, felling dangerous trees around the estate, and general forestry work including mitigating threats such as windblown trees
What you'll need
Minimum of five year experience of forestry work
CS30, CS31, & CS32
Experience of working around diggers and forwarders
Extensive trailer experience
Knowledge of felling techniques with difficult/dangerous trees
Knowledge and skills of different knots with bull ropes, for difficult felling techniques
Other qualifications such as MEWP, Brushcutter, ATV advantage but not essential
Physically fit with a love of working outdoors (in all weathers!)
Ability to work in a small team, with great communication skills
A clean full UK driving licence and your own transport to get to the estate
Where you'll be based
The estate spans 8000 acres, from Heveningham to Sibton to Yoxford. You'll be expected to have your own transport to get to the estate each day and your base will be Heveningham Hall.
What you'll receive
£26,000 - £30,000 per annum dependent on experience
Full time permanent employment based on a minimum of 39 hours per week (7:30am-4:15pm)
