Estate Worker/Machine Operator

The employer

The Heveningham Hall Estate, encompassing Sibton Park Estate and Wilderness Reserve, a collection of exclusive-use country houses, luxury holiday cottages, and off-grid boltholes spread over a privately owned 8000 acre country estate. Wilderness Reserve is a long-term conservation and restoration project - protecting English nature and breathing new life into historic properties. It is unlike anything or any place you’ve ever been before.

The job

You'll be part of our dedicated earthworks & landscaping team, tasked with creating ponds, lakes, bulk excavations and earth sculpting, forestry work, ditching, dredging, trenching, and all related activities across our stunning estate. We operate an array of machinery including excavators of varying sizes, dozers, tractors etc. as well we various landscaping, forestry, and agricultural equipment. You won't just be on a machine all day and must be willing to involve yourself with anything required, problem-solving as you go while enjoying the diverse working environment of a country estate.

What you'll need

Background in large-scale landscaping, agriculture, demolition, or earthworks
NPORS and CPCS 10t and above expected, however training can be provided for those with time-learned skills
A skilled 360 excavator operator essential, dozer and tractor experience an advantage
A self-starter, able to work without direction and use your initiative to solve problems as you go
Mechanically-minded, able to provide basic maintenance and repairs to machinery
Pride in your work
You must be a real team player with a willingness to muck in, on and off the machine
A Full UK driving licence and your own transport.

Where you'll be based

The estate spans 8000 acres, from Heveningham to Sibton to Yoxford. You'll be expected to have your own transport to get to the estate each day.

What you'll receive

- Day rate dependent on experience
- Full time work on subcontract basis with minimum of 45 hours per week
- Limitless overtime available (and encouraged) including weekends
- Stunning working location in the Suffolk countryside
