The job
As Payroll & Accounts Assistant you'll be responsible for the running of payroll as well as the monitoring and recording costings from multiple construction projects, ensuring projects are correctly setup in the QuickBooks system. You'll write up and price material and plant costs for each project, set up price adjustment spreadsheets, and raise sales invoices. You may also be involved with VAT returns and CIS reporting as required.
Your role will involve close liaison with the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor and attending construction management meetings.
As part of the office administration team, you will also be performing general admin tasks, answering the phone, directing calls, and generally mucking in!
What you'll need
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as email
Experience using Apple Mac computer systems essential
Good working knowledge of sales and purchase ledger data entry and reporting
Knowledge of QuickBooks or Xero an advantage
Experience with CIS payroll
A background in the construction industry or builders merchant beneficial
Thrive in a busy working environment
Exemplary telephone manner
Excellent organisational skills
A Full UK driving licence and own transport
A degree of flexibility to cover annual leave
Where you'll be based
The office is based close to Framlingham, Suffolk, in an agricultural-type setting
What you'll receive
£15.00 per hour
Employed role (permanent contract)
Part time hours, working 8am-4:30pm Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
28 days holiday including bank holidays
