The employer
Pump Street Bakery offers outstanding bread and handmade pastries, all made daily by a small, close-knit team of bakers. The intimate café serves up sandwiches and savouries, alongside directly traded artisan tea, coffee, and their own single farm drinking chocolate.
The job
As Cook you will be hands-on making everything from seasonal tarts, sandwiches and salads, to our own homemade sauces, chutneys, pickles, smoothies and juices. Everything is made from scratch.
You will be executing seasonal menu variations, taking part in ordering, stock control and food safety and also lending a hand to all members of the team, front and back of house, in order to support our goals of excellence in all aspects of our work.
You will have the pleasure of working with the best quality local food, the best British cheese, local charcuterie and have the opportunity to learn in other sections of the business.
What you'll need
A true passion for working with food
Ready and enthusiastic to learn about our bread, pastries and the food we serve.
Proven record of being hardworking and responsible in previous jobs.
Ability to work under pressure is essential.
Where you'll be based
The bakery is situated in the village of Orford, on Suffolk’s heritage coast.
What you'll receive
£13.00 - £14.00 per hour dependent on experience
20 hour working week, job sharing with one other cook
Working 7:30am-3:30pm between Wednesday-Sunday including every other weekend
28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
