Pump Street Bakery offers outstanding bread and handmade pastries, all made daily by a small, close-knit team of bakers.

The job

As a member of the Bakehouse Team at a small, family-run artisan bakery, you will be making and baking a range of patisserie, viennoiserie, sweet doughs, and participating in bread production as required. You’ll work in a busy kitchen environment and be a real team player, as well as often working independently. You’ll partake in daily cleaning tasks and maintain records of food safety.

A real opportunity for someone with a passion for the industry to hone their skills in artisan baking.

What you'll need

A keen interest in baking and pastry, and a love for food & drink
Experience in pastry desirable but not essential
Proven track record of taking on responsibility in previous work placements, even if not in a food production environment.
Able to work under pressure, meeting demands in regards to production and quality
Ability to work independently
Driving licence and transport due to location
At least 25 years old for insurance purposes

Where you'll be based

The bakehouse is situated in Gedgrave, close to the village of Orford, on Suffolk’s heritage coast.

What you'll receive

£12.00 per hour, 40 hour per week contract
Two consecutive days off per week, working either Tuesday-Saturday or Wednesday-Sunday
Weekday shifts 4am-1pm or 7am-3pm, weekend shift 3am-11am
28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
