The company


The inhouse painting and restoration team of the Heveningham Hall Estate, encompassing Sibton Park Estate and Wilderness Reserve, a collection of exclusive-use country houses, luxury holiday cottages, and off-grid boltholes spread over a privately owned 8000 acre country estate. Wilderness Reserve is a long-term conservation and restoration project - protecting English nature and breathing new life into historic properties. It is unlike anything or any place you’ve ever been before

 

The job


You’ll have a chance to learn a wide range of skills in the profession, ranging from entry level decorating all the way through to restoration level finishing at Heveningham Hall, a Grade I Listed neoclassical building. We also work with a lot of traditional methods of finishing such as limewash and casein distemper on our Wilderness Reserve projects, working alongside other traditional trades and craftsmen.

 

What you'll need


Desire to learn a practical trade

Pride in your work

A team player with keen eye for detail

Great working attitude and willingness to learn

A Full UK driving licence and your own transport

 

Where you'll be based


The estate spans 8000 acres, from Heveningham to Sibton to Yoxford. You'll be expected to have your own transport to get to the estate each day. The workshop is based in Chediston, close to Halesworth.

 

What you'll receive


- Minimum wage for age (£7.49 18+, £10.18 21+, £10.49 23+)

- Full time employment working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

- Overtime, including weekends

- Two-year training period after which your pay will rise commensurate with your ability

- Stunning working location in the Suffolk countryside
