The company


The Bell Hotel is a 19th century coaching inn, one of the last to be built in the UK, that has undergone recent, extensive renovations and is fast-establishing itself as a coveted destination for locals and tourists alike. The hotel has two dining rooms, a bar, and currently 10 letting rooms, with more to be added later in the year. Fantastic, newly installed commercial kitchen with extensive, all-electric, equipment list.

 

The job


As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with our fantastic Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of kitchen operations in our recently refurbished state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. We cook using seasonally available local produce to develop new and exciting menus and pride ourselves on cooking to a two AA rosette standard, which you will help to champion.

 

What you'll need


A passion for cooking high quality food, preferably to a two AA rosette standard

Experience as a Sous Chef, or an experienced CDP looking to progress

A hands-on and lead-by-example work style to deliver an exceptional performance and guest experience

The Bell Hotel is based in Saxmundham, Suffolk, a historic market town that is beginning to realise its potential.

 

What you'll receive


- £29,000 - £31,000 per annum dependent on experience

- Live-in accommodation available

- Gratuities (c.£200-£400 pm)

- Long service awards

- Two days off per week

- 47.5 hour working week (9 hour day with 30 minute unpaid break)

- Free meals whilst working

- Whites provided

- 28 days annual leave, rising to 34 days after 5 years of service (including bank holidays)
