The company
Heveningham Hall is a privately owned and occupied Georgian country house, with extensive gardens restored to Capability Brown's original - but never implemented - designs by noted English landscape architect Kim Wilkie. It's estate extends to 8000+ acres of parkland and woodland.
The job
A brand new role for the estate, as Log Processor you will be report directly to the Estate Manager and be responsible for operating our POSCH K660 VARIO processor, producing logs, kindling, and firewood which you will then deliver across the estate to the luxury Wilderness Reserve properties as well as to domestic clients. In addition, you will be involved in other land management work, giving you an understanding of all elements of work required on a diverse estate. This could include operating forestry machinery, telehandlers, 360 excavators, chainsaws, brushcutters, and compact tractors, plus working alongside the Estate Manager to prepare for estate events on tight deadlines.
What you'll need
Excellent time management and listening skills
Chainsaw experience and CS30 ticket required
You must be a real team player with a willingness to muck in, on and off the machine
Physically fit with a love of working outdoors (in all weathers!)
Ability to work in a small team, with great communication skills
A Full UK driving licence and your own transport to get to the estate
Preferably over 21 for insurance purposes
Where you'll be based
The estate spans 8000 acres, from Heveningham to Sibton to Yoxford. You'll be expected to have your own transport to get to the estate each day and your base will be in Heveningham.
What you'll receive
- £27,000 per annum
- Full time permanent employment based on a minimum of 39 hours per week (7:30am-4:15pm)
