An authentic plantsman’s nursery & arboretum established in Suffolk for more than 30 years with one of the largest ranges of commercially available ornamental and native plants in the country and curators of an extensive botanic collection. They specialise in large specimen trees and shrubs with a commitment to supplying genuine English grown and English provenance native trees & hedging.
The job
You'll be the first point of contact for visiting customers, greeting them on arrival and either signposting them to the relevant part of the nursery or locating the appropriate 'expert' to help them.
You'll be responsible for making the customers' journey from first contact through to aftercare as smooth and pleasant as possible, upholding exemplary levels of customer care while ensuring no detail is missed and lines of communication remain open throughout. This will involve assisting with plant selection, creating invoices, and arranging transport.
You'll also be answering phone, email, and website enquiries (absolutely no cold calling!) in a timely and professional manner, recording stock numbers via a computerised database, and creating monthly reports.
What you'll need
A strong interest in plants and horticulture
Exceptional customer service skills
Organised, proactive, and efficient administrator
Good IT skills in order to be proficient at processing orders
A real passion for the outdoors, nature, wildlife and the environment, and be comfortable in an agricultural type office setting
Self-starter able to prioritise own workload
It is important that you are well-presented and courteous, in order to represent the company and uphold our values in your dealings with clients, customers, and colleagues.

A Full UK driving licence and your own transport.
Where you'll be based
The nursery is based on an old dairy farm in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, a truly idyllic location in Campsea Ashe, just outside Wickham Market.
What you'll receive
- £25,000 - £27,000 per annum dependent on experience
- Employed role (permanent contract)
- Working Monday to Friday, typically between 9am-5pm with half an hour lunch break
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays
