A privately owned farming and conservation estate, working for the principal couple in their Elizabethan manor house and surrounding grounds.
The job
As domestic couple you will be responsible for the overall management of the house and grounds for the principals, who have not previously had a live-in couple. Although duties are to be shared between the couple, the job can be broken down into two main roles:
Housekeeper - a traditional housekeeper responsible for all cleaning, laundry, ironing, household management i.e. ordering of food and consumables, dog walking and sitting, cooking of meals (1-2 meals per day)
Estate Worker/Groundsperson - garden and property maintenance, including wider estate properties, estate work including tree planting and working in the conservation woodland, driving, security.
The role will suit a countryside-loving couple who wish to settle into a long-term arrangement.
What you'll need
Experience in similar domestic roles
A proactive approach to the upkeep and maintenance of the property
A deep love of the countryside and all things outdoors
Dog friendly
Discreet and trustworthy
A Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to undertake a DBS check

Where you'll be based
The estate is based close to the Norfolk/Suffolk border, spread over 1000 acres of arable farmland, woodland, and wetlands. Your accommodation will initially be in the form of a well-appointed 2/3 bedroom flat close to the house, moving to a 2/3 bedroom estate cottage as one becomes available. Due to the apartment style accommodation, no pets can be accommodated initially.
What you'll receive
- £65,000 per annum
- Accommodation provided
- Utilities provided (you must pay council tax, tv licence, broadband)
- Monday-Friday working week with very occasional weekend working (time paid back in lieu)
