The Heveningham Hall Estate, encompassing Sibton Park Estate and Wilderness Reserve, a collection of exclusive-use country houses, luxury holiday cottages, and off-grid boltholes spread over a privately owned 8000 acre country estate. Wilderness Reserve is a long-term conservation and restoration project - protecting English nature and breathing new life into historic properties. It is unlike anything or any place you’ve ever been before.

 

The job


The Activities Instructor is responsible for providing exceptional activity experiences for all guests maintaining a fun, entertaining and professional approach in their very own space of Wilderness Reserve.

Depending on qualifications and experience, you will join the qualified and super focussed ranger team where you will learn hands on the level of dedication and flexible commitment required to provide the outstanding and personalised experiences that we offer.

Providing activities for intimate family experiences to large scale multi day corporate events, you will immerse yourself into our brand and whole team working ethos.

The role is not the average outdoor instructor role, it requires a blended area of expertise; that covers but not limited to outdoor leadership, adventure, wilderness activity and field studies. Wilderness therapy, wild cooking, forestry, estate grounds work, conservation, tree planting and developing skills with early years provision may be amongst the diverse skills and requirements to develop over time.

After completing a successful probation an example day may include setting up axe targets, wild swimming, running a High-Power Air Rifle and Laser Clays or delivering a group 5km wilderness nature walk or leading a personal bonfire experience.

 

What you'll need


An adventurous and charismatic individual with the energy to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Knowledge and understanding of the flora and fauna that is the Wilderness Reserve or a strong desire to continually learn is essential.

High level of physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all seasons

Experience in · paddle sport, forestry management, ecology, bushcraft, targets sports, heritage crafts, yoga & wellness, or birds of prey desirable

It is important that you are well-presented and courteous, in order to deliver an exemplary service to our guests.

A Full UK driving licence

 

Where you'll be based


Wilderness Reserve is located across 8000 acres, spanning Heveningham, Sibton, and Yoxford in stunning surroundings.

 

What you'll receive


- £21,000-£23,000 per annum based on a minimum 40 hour working week

- Employed role (permanent contract, not seasonal)

- 6-month intensive training programme

- On-site accommodation available

- Working on a rota basis Monday-Sunday including evenings

- A fast-paced, ever changing work environment to thrive and develop your career at the highest end of hospitality
