Estate Tractor & Telehandler Operator

The employer

The Heveningham Hall Estate, encompassing Sibton Park Estate and Wilderness Reserve, a collection of exclusive-use country houses, luxury holiday cottages, and off-grid boltholes spread over a privately owned 8000 acre country estate. Wilderness Reserve is a long-term conservation and restoration project - protecting English nature and breathing new life into historic properties. It is unlike anything or any place you’ve ever been before.

The job

You'll be working as part of the estate team, completing a wide variety of tasks including rolling, cultivating, leading woodchip, power harrowing, hedge cutting using Sherborne equipment, low-loader towing. Must have experience with JCB Telehandlers and Valtra tractors.

What you'll need

A minimum 5 years experience in a similar setting
Experience driving modern Valtra/Massey Ferguson tractors (essential)
Experience on hedge-cutters, using either Shelbourne or McConnell rear flail mounted hedge-cutter (essential)
Ability to take this type of equipment on and off with ease, if needed for other duties (essential)
Experience using a range of attachments, including Mashio/Kuhn Power-harrows, Vibaflex cultivator, road graders, tine harrows, flat 6m rollers, flail toppers, rotary toppers and know how to reverse grain trailers into tight spaces into sheds (essential)
Able to change PTO shafts from 540 to 1000 (essential)
Telehandler ticket either LANTRA or NPORS based (essential)
Experience and can-do attitude to changing buckets, bucket brushes and tines (essential)
Clear, concise communication skills
Forestry experience preferred but not essential
Physically fit with a love of working outdoors (in all weathers!)
A Full UK driving licence and your own transport to get to the estate (use of Land Rover Defenders while on the estate)

Where you'll be based

The estate spans 8000 acres, from Heveningham to Sibton to Yoxford. You'll be expected to have your own transport to get to the estate each day.

What you'll receive

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum (employed) dependent on experience
Salary reviewed annually
Full time permanent employment based on a minimum of 39 hours per week (7:30am-4:15pm)
Limitless overtime available (and encouraged) including weekends
Stunning working location in the Suffolk countryside
28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
